19/4/26:- Finally working with the Microfreak

Late last year I bought myself a new hardware synth - an Arturia Microfreak - and while I have been noodling around with it making patches and generally getting my head around the workflow, as I was busy with the Dem13 EP, and then the Default Mammal EP, I've never yet gotten round to actually making any music with it. Until today. When I got the Korg NTS-1 a few years back, I made a full EP with it (it was shit) and I'm aiming to try the same thing again with the Microfreak. Hopefully as it's a much more capable instrument, it should come out better. It's already gone a bit skew-whiff as I was originally trying to do something more ambient / soundtrack-y, but got bored as I usually do with that stuff and then breakbeats started seeping in, as they usually do... Anyway, the whole track (including the drums - though I'm not a fan of synth drums) is done only with the Microfreak and Renoise to sequence and arrange it all. Mostly Renoise's native plug-ins too. No other VSTi's or samples involved. Sounding pretty decent so far, I think. Maybe expect a four-track EP of this stuff in the next month or so.
