10/3/25:- The end of the beginning is in sight

Street sign on Neibolt St

After about 7 months of fairly steady work, the exterior part of this project is nearing completion. I reckon the thumbnail for the final video will likely resemble this.

The idea of this project is to recreate a location, Neibolt Street, from the novel "IT" by Stephen King, as described in the book. (It doesn't appear in the TV miniseries and the House on Neibolt Street as depicted in the recent-ish films bears no resemblance to the source material.) The aim is to do a sort of "urban exploration" of 29 Neibolt St set about a year after the events of 1959.

The aim of all of this is to have a stab at doing a larger and more realistic looking project, though still doing all my own modelling and procedural texturing, and getting more practice at organising and completing a more complex scene in prep for my long-term planned River Wear project. There's been quite a few technical challanges and advances I've made so far, notably with using geometry nodes to create procedural plants and learning how to make more complex shaders.
